Frye Festival 26th Edition
The Frye Festival is Atlantic Canada's biggest literary happening.
Since 1999, we have been offering Monctonians and NB youth a bilingual celebration of words, ideas, and the imagination.
The fundamental job of the imagination in ordinary life, then, is to produce, out of the society we have to live in, a vision of the society we want to live in.
... wrote Northrop Frye, in The Educated Imagination (1966).
Amounting to ten days of festivities, the festival takes place at the end of April and unfolds in the Greater Moncton region, in neighbouring communities, and for the Youth and Authors in the Community Programs, all over the province.
Land Acknowledgment
The Frye Festival recognizes that the land upon which the organization is settled and offers events is the traditional, unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq. As we commit to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, we acknowledge and honour their voices, stories, and works, which are vital to our shared literary landscape.
