Location: Moncton, New Brunswick
Job type: Part-time (20 hours per week, flexible hours)
Duration: 6-month contract, with possibility of renewal and more hours

The Frye Festival is the largest literary festival in Atlantic Canada, celebrating the richness of Canadian and international cultures and literatures. Job description:
The Community Program Manager plays a key role in the development, planning and implementation of Frye Festival community initiatives. Working with the Festival team, the position will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with various community partners and designing programs to actively engage local and regional communities around literature and the arts. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating school visits.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community programs that reflect the mission of the Frye Festival, fostering inclusive participation and celebrating cultural diversity.
  • Work with schools, libraries, community centers and other organizations to develop sustainable partnerships.
  • Coordinate school visits in collaboration with educational institutions, organizing author-student meetings, literary workshops and other festival-related educational activities.
  • Organize and coordinate literary and artistic events for a variety of audiences, including workshops, book clubs, meetings with authors, public readings and discussions.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers involved in community programs.
  • Ensure regular communication with partners and stakeholders, and represent the Frye Festival at community meetings and events.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to promote community programs through various channels, including social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor and evaluate the reach and impact of community initiatives, gathering feedback and suggesting improvements.
  • Manage the budget allocated to community programs and ensure compliance with deadlines and available resources.
  • Participate in outreach activities to increase Frye Festival visibility in underserved communities.

 

Profile required:

  • Strong command of written and spoken French and English (bilingual).
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to use the Office and Airtable suites.
  • Diplomacy and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant experience in community project management, ideally in the arts or culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships with community and cultural organizations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for special events.
