What to expect

Club Moderator

Nathalie Goguen received a Bachelors in Education from Université de Moncton in 2015. She has worked with the Frye Festival team as Assistant Director, Youth Program Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator and KidsFest Coordinator. Since 2015, she has been the moderator of Frye Academy, a program that brings together Anglophone and Francophone students to discuss books. She currently works as a Project Officer coordinating the Student for a Day Program at the Université de Moncton. She loves to read, eat ice cream, and pet her cat Jack-O-Lantern.

Books to read for Frye Academy's 15th season:

 

 

Après avoir perdu son bébé en cours de grossesse, Dolores se réfugie à Moreau, le village de son enfance. Dans le bungalow d’à côté, madame Labelle se remet d’une fracture en buvant du thé au milieu de son salon Tiki. En face, Olivia, huit ans, tourne en rond pendant que son père travaille. Entre deux parties de cartes, une vieille série policière et l’étrange apparition d’un oiseau à l’aile cassée, elles prendront soin les unes des autres. Et la forêt, tout autour de ce village où il n’y a aucun chat et presque plus d’habitants, prendra soin d’elles.  

Comme un conte pour enfants qui auraient grandi trop vite, Après Céleste explore les sentiers du deuil, de l’amitié, de la mémoire et, surtout, de la guérison.
