Céleste Godin is a Moncton-based multidisciplinary artist from Halifax.
Since their decision to “become an artist” in 2015, Céleste Godin has written reviews, essays, slam poetry, and several digital absurdities, often about their diverse vision of Acadian identity. They are the Popexx of Confessions Acadiennes, a digital project that aims to reveal hidden truths within a community that is lacking honesty. In 2019, they wrote their first play, Overlap, a love-hate letter to Moncton written in almost-Chiac, produced by Satellite Theatre and published in 2020 by Prise de parole. Céleste Godin has also written and performed custom pieces from Radio-Canada’s 2021 show Tableau de Backyard. Their second play, Bouée, was produced by Satellite Theatre and came out in 2023.
Aside from their artistic endeavours, Céleste Godin has been pursuing their current obsessions: bedazling everything they can, and appreciating all the Sourpuss flavours.
