Yvon Lapierre
Mr. Lapierre is no stranger to the world of municipal government, having served as Councillor for Ward 2 in 1986 and 1989, then Mayor of Dieppe from 1998 to 2005, 2012 to 2016, and from 2016 to 2021. He was re-elected Mayor in 2021. Mayor Lapierre is a member of the following committees:
- Council Standing Committee on Public Policies and Strategies
- Grievance Committee of the City Council – CUPE – Local 3515 – Fire Department
- Cities of New Brunswick Association executive committee
- Expansion Dieppe
In recent years, Mr. Lapierre has managed plants owned by Owens Illinois, a company specializing in the manufacturing of glass containers. For several years, he also served as Director of Human Resources and Finished Products for Domglas-Consumers Glass.
Mr. Lapierre’s community involvement includes the Boys and Girls Club of Dieppe and Skate New Brunswick. He is the recipient of a Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club and the Hommage Richelieu International de Paix et Fraternité.
Born in Montreal, Mr. Lapierre studied at the CÉGEP Vieux Montréal and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Université de Moncton.
He is married to Elizabeth Ann and has four daughters and seven grandchildren.
