Literary Translators' Association of Canada
The Literary Translators’ Association of Canada seeks to advance its members’ status as creators, by providing advice on their rights and responsibilities, and through other means, such as offering professional development workshops.
As the only organization representing literary translators in Canada, the LTAC is committed to furthering the interests of literary translators in national organizations such as the Public Lending Right Commission and the Creators Copyright Coalition.
The LTAC highlights the importance of literary translation by providing access to Canada’s culture, nationally and internationally, and by actively participating in Canada’s literary life. It does this in part by organizing public readings, lectures, and panel discussions, usually in partnership with literary festivals, universities, and other organizations.
