Canada Research Chair in Sexual Violence, Intervention and Prevention

The objective of the Canada Research Chair in Sexual Violence, Intervention and Prevention is to study sexual violence from an intersectional feminist perspective, with a focus on Francophone minority communities, in order to foster the emergence of new approaches to prevention and intervention. Using a participatory feminist approach, the Chair aims to produce knowledge that shakes up patriarchal social structures, by putting into dialogue the knowledge produced by scientists and interventionists, and that produced by those directly concerned in the context of lived experience.

In partnership with the Frye Festival, the Chair is also interested in the arts and literature, studying the presence of sexual violence in the media, literary and artistic representations of sexual violence, and the mediation of works dealing with this subject.

Chairholder: Madeline Lamboley, Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at the Université de Moncton.
