Vanessa Moeller
She / Her / Elle
The first entry about Vanessa Moeller in her mother’s diary reads, “Vanessa wrote on the white wall with a red marker.” She was barely one at the time; it was a portent of things to come. Since then, she has been committed to writing, drawing, literacy, and the arts, and while she does not write on walls (much) anymore, her words do occasionally appear on a billboard or two as part of her work as a Senior Creative Writer for m5 Marketing Communications.
Vanessa holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick. Her first book, Our Extraordinary Monsters, was released by Signature Editions (2009), and her work has received numerous awards including the Atlantic Poetry Prize and an honorable mention in the poetry category of the National Magazine Awards. Her poems and short stories have appeared in numerous periodicals including The Fiddlehead, Prism International, and CV2, as well as in anthologies by Guernica Editions, Baseline Press, and Frog Hollow Press.
