Éditions Perce-Neige was founded in Moncton in 1980 by the Association des écrivains acadiens with the goal of encouraging the next generation of writers by publishing their first book. True to this mandate, the organization's mission today is to publish books in French that reflect the continuity and renewal of Acadian literature, with an emphasis on Acadian and francophone writers from Atlantic Canada and Louisiana.

The publishing house is literary and favours emerging voices (Sébastien Bérubé, Monica Bolduc, Jonathan Roy, Joannie Thomas, Gabriel Robichaud, etc.), while editing the established values of our literature (Suzan Payne, France Daigle, Georgette LeBlanc, Serge Patrice Thibodeau, Camilien Roy, Marc Arseneau, Paul Bossé, etc.). Although it is best known for its poetry collection, Éditions Perce-Neige also publishes important works of Acadian literary heritage, notably with the memoirs collection. The prose collection includes novels, short stories and travelogues, while the essays and documents collection aims to be at the crossroads of ideas in Acadia. The "Poésie / Rafale" collection is intended for young adults who are interested in performance poetry and the new orality, while the "Littoral" collection presents works by Maritime authors in French translation. "Archipel" collection brings together unpublished academic essays by the Association des professeurs de littérature acadienne et québécoise de l'Atlantique (APLAQA). Authors from Louisiana share the "Acadie Tropicale" collection.

Since 2005, the company has published all its titles in accordance with the new French spelling, on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Over the years, Éditions Perce-Neige has consolidated its position as a key player in the Acadian literary scene and is proud to be at the heart of the Acadian literary scene.
