Originally from Sherbrooke, Mikella Nicol is a writer and French professor. She has published two novels, Aphélie (2017) and Les filles bleues de l’été (2014), as well as a novella, Mise en forme (2023), with Cheval d’août. She holds a master's degree in creative writing on the theme of sisterhood in literature. Having been based in Montreal for over ten years, she initially manifested her commitment to the literary community as a bookseller and later as production director at the Festival de la poésie de Montréal. Les filles bleues de l’été, published in France by Nouvel Attila, won the Voltaire Prize in 2022.
