Andrew J. LeBlanc
Andrew LeBlanc is serving his first term as Mayor after being elected to the position in May 2021. His was first elected as Councillor-at-Large in May 2012 and again in 2016 and was elected Deputy Mayor in May 2020. His years of work in the nonprofit sector with youth and families and his desire to help create a sound strategy for long-term growth are what motivated him to run for public office.
In addition to serving the community on Council, Andrew is Executive Director of Atlantic Wellness Community Centre. He is passionate about building a safe and inclusive community where residents of all generations, cultures and backgrounds can feel welcome, involved and at home.
Andrew is also a strong advocate for sustainable growth and the Town’s arts, culture and recreational programming as these services play an important role in the quality of life that residents have in Riverview. A long-time community leader, he is the recipient of the Kim Halliday Asset Builders Award from the United Way for his community work and in 2019 was awarded the Top-20-Under-40 Award from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Moncton and the Hub City Young Professionals Network.
When he is not busy working on behalf of residents, Andrew, his wife Patricia and daughter Amelia like to enjoy the many family activities and events hosted by Riverview’s Parks and Recreation Department. Music is also a favourite pastime and Andrew plays with the local acoustic trio The AJs.
