Jean Babineau est né à Moncton et il vit à Grand Barachois, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Romancier, nouvelliste et auteur dramatique, il a publié trois romans aux Éditions PerceNeige, dont le plus récent, Vortex, a été récompensé par le prix Antonine-Maillet Acadie Vie en 2004.
